KiPro video recordings lost, recovered, now let's brainstorm a fix.

We host an annual corporate event where we have 80+ breakout sessions over the course of 2 days that we record the presentation from the presenter's laptop and their audio. Our setup is pretty basic. HDMI connection at podium to an Extron HDMI DA6 w/EDID locked to 720p 60hz. Port 1 of the DA goes to a projector and port 2 to the KiPro. Presenter plugs in their laptop at the podium and we are off to the races with recording. Recordings work just fine except when the presenter unplugs their laptop prior to the tech hitting stop. When this happens, the KiPro sort of locks up and will not close the file, the media light will continue to blink and the only way to get on with the next recording is to power cycle the unit. I have replicated this issue on my desk pretty consistently. I'm pretty sure if we just had a device that went inline either before or after the DA that would send a constant 720p HDMI signal to the KiPro we wouldn't have this issue as the KiPro wouldn't get freaked out.

I know that a switcher inline would do the trick as it sends a constant signal out to whatever is connected. But for these breakout rooms with a single source a switcher is not needed and is just an operating cost that is unjustifiable at this point unless it's the only way to fix this problem.

I do have the setting on the KiPro to continue recording on loss of signal. We do this because these presenters have a tendency to swap laptops out if it is a multiple presenter session.
