Power loss during recording

If there is an unexpected power loss during a continuous recording, such as a lecture or something like that, is the entire file lost?
Is there any emergency closeout procedure contemplated in future updates or implemented in the current unit?
I assume one should have a faultless (APC) power supply or make back up recordings in this case.

Actually in answer to my own question, maybe one of these ups units that are the footprint of a
surge protector/power strip would work.

I think in the field we'll probably be working from batteries and have plenty of warning before they go down. But this is definitely a vulnerability to be worked. Wouldn't it be nice if we could design a ups that is integral to the transformer, or the plug.

Mike

I was testing this yesterday and I found that most of the batteries are giving a shutdown warning that the KiPro does see. I was able to close out a 20min record (takes about 10 sec) because of the "flashing" notification the unit sent when the power on a Hytron 140 started to wane.

I also checked with my Dionics and IDX batts and found the same response when the power levels reached about 10-15%.

Yes, this has been discussed at length. While not in the initial release of the software I have been told that plans to incorporate emergency closeout are part of the roadmap.

The 1.0 release of the KiPro software does not include it.
