It's not recommended. At the very very least, you should get a 2 drive fw800 array with a fw Express/34 card.

Even better would be a 2 drive SATA array with a SATA Express/34 card.

As far as 720p25 vs 720p50. What the source of your incoming video?

The HDSDI stream is always playing at 50p, however since you are using the HDSDI feed into an IoHD use the same technique that is used for Panasonic cameras in the IoHD article listed below to extra 25p from that camera.

Sony was smart enough to include the PR188 frame flagging systems that is currently in use and in 720p it works the same as Panasonic camera's do.

Listen to the other posts - DO NOT record video to your system drive.

[Martijn Scholte] "not recommended or not possible? "

I couldn't possibly recommend it.

As Gary says, the EX1 does send variable frame rate info to the ioHD. If using VTR Exchange, use the 1280x720 10 bit 720p50 VFR setup and set your frame rate to 25, and codec to ProRes or ProResHQ. Make sure your camera is setup for the same (720p25).
