hi all

i'm about ot purchage an io and converter solution
so far i tent to like the iohd for its portabilaty
but as i understand the decklink can do hd unc. 422 and io only proress?
we dont have a raid to support true hd unc. yet but in time we might get one

our main goal is to do blue screen work and wondering if i will get a lot of quality diference (we shoot with EX1) unc vs proress

in general i am looking for ceveats with either card to help me make a
better desision

we work in on mac only most of the time

thanks in advance

Well, in my opinion, if you want to do blue screen work conveniently, that means portability and that means an ioHD. ProRes is very nice for keying although I have never done blue screen, only green screen. You will get much better quality when shooting an EX1 to record straight to ProRes rather than the cards. Your keying life will be much easier.

Sure you might eek out some more quality at uncompressed, but in order to do that you have to drag around a MacPro, a raid array, monitors etc. With an ioHD, you have a laptop, a small sata setup (2 drive, raid0) and the ioHD. It's a very nice solution.
