No Timecode During SDI Capture?
on May 9, 2008 at 7:25:48 pm

Hey Guys,

Not really a dedicated Aja i/o question, but since it's involved, I thought I'd let it rip:

Just hooked up a DigiBeta deck via SDI to my Aja i/o. Running into the G5 and FCP with Firewire 800. The footage captures fine (both audio and video), but it has no timecode! Rather, each new clip that I capture is zero'ed out, rather than having the original tape's timecode embedded in it. Any idea what might be causing this (the deck, the Aja, or FCP?) I fiddled with the deck's TC Regen switch but neither setting seems to do anything.

Thanks in advance!

- Matt

Its an fcp problem. Use VTR exchange (free from aja) to capture embedded LTC timecode.
