SD prores422 capture to IoHD

I need to do some live SD (prores422) capture from a Sony PDW350.

Sony tech support tell me that this camera outputs SD SDI from the HD SDI connector on the rear but when I connect up to my IoHD it reports a 1080i25 signal. Unfortuneatly I don't have an SDI monitor available to check this.

The camera is set to 50i DVcam mode and the preview is stretched in teh FCS log and capture window. Changing the 350's 'aspect ratio(DV) between 4:3 and 16:9 doesn't make any difference.

What I's really like is 4:3 SD capture but either working properly would do.

Any ideas as to what's happening here?

I've also cross posted in the CineAlta forum here on the cow

Thanks in advance.

Alan

Use the ioHD to downconvert your HD signal to 4:3 crop.

Thanks Jeremy,

Do you think this will still be clean enough for some decent greenscreen?

No doubt about it as long as your dp knows what they are doing. You are still maintaining a 10bit depth throughout. When you start with high quality and go to 'lower' quality footage that quality tends to trickle down.

Thanks Jeremy, I was just wondering about the quality of the IoHD downconvert.

No worries about quality there. You are set.
