HDV on an NTSC monitor through AJA IO LD

Hi everyone,

Working with Final Cut Pro 6.0 on 10.4.11 here...I was wondering if I can monitor HDV (720p 24fps) footage on my NTSC monitor through my AJA IO LD...

The material has already all been captured. I just would like to use my NTSC monitor for playback.

Thanks!

Marcos H.

No, the ioLD is an SD only device and does not handle HDV material.

Perhaps it's time to upgrade to HD?

Jeremy

Hold on there bucko (it's so difficult finding the right time to call someone that).

As a proud owner of a couple of Io products, I can confirm this. I still have 5.something on my PowerBook and it only updates to the current frame when you stop, but FCP 6 keeps it moving along as the timeline plays (as in SD downconvert from an HDV timeline).

FCP6 supports real time dv downconverts from anything. I doubt it is full resolution and probably some sort of rt preview. If you are going to be working in HD, it'd be best to get an HD capable video card to work with. In my opinion anyway.

Yours in sync,
Bucko

I agree, although it would be a nice bonus for owning an IO.
