Digitizing DVD
on Mar 1, 2014 at 8:24:47 pm

Hi everybody, I'm creating original subtitles for a video. I will use DVD Studio Pro 4. The only format available is DVD Video as the producers were not able to upload or deliver any type of video file.

The DVD disc was shipped from France to here/NY and the only spec is the ratio: 16:9. I'm using the Kona LHi (10.4.9) and FCP 7 and a OPPO blu-ray player BDP-83. Component out.

I did set the player for PAL output as I want to avoid the conversion to NTSC and the player video out to 720p 50Hz. The other options I have for PAL component out are: 1080p 50 Hz, 1080i 50 Hz, 576i and 576p.

I did capture using 720p 50 with Apple pro res 422. Sequence settings are the same.

Playing back, it looks great but the sound is completely high pitched/faster than the video. I understand this may be a pretty basic tech question for many of you but if anybody can please help with any feedback or suggestion I would greatly appreciate.

Thanks a lot in advance. Giovanni
