LHe full frame downconvert

LHe full frame downconvert

Hey-

Quick question...will the LHi do an HD to NTSC downconvert that will "clip" the sides of the 16x9 frame...or as my editor puts it "downconvert full frame where the left and right "wings" of the 16:9 image are cut off to fit into the 4:3 frame completeley."

If so what are the correct settings?

Yes. I believe the setting is called Crop in the AJA Control Panel.

FWIW, most post professionals call that "center punch" or "center extract". That's usually an option on most downconvert systems.
