We have just set up a new edit suite, using the Kona LHi, with Breakout Box.
We have a MacPro 2x 2.26 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon, Mac OS 10.6.1, FCS 7.0, Quicktime 10.0, AJA Control Panel 7.0.1, CalDigit Raid Card & HD Element (striped RAID 5, driver 2.0.2), 12 GB RAM.
The Kona card is installed in PCI slot 2, the Raid card in slot 3.
All hooked up to a DigiBeta deck DVW-M200P, attempting to edit PAL Uncompressed 10-bit.
When running tests today, we encountered problems with SDI when capturing. From the Kona LH / Breakout Box, the picture we are getting on an external monitor is jittery and unstable, there is no audio, and the VTR is showing channel condition warning.
When we unplug the SDI or set the input select on VTR to component or composite, the picture looks fine.
Also a second monitor, connected via HDMI loses signal, and when changing input select, regains signal.
We have uninstalled and reinstalled the AJA driver, trashed preferences in FCP, with no luck in solving the problem.
The AJA Conflict Checker utility shows no software conflicts.
Any help appreciated!
Got black burst of course.

I bet you $100 that you do not have a black generator hooked up to both the DVW-M2000P (it's 2000, not 200) Ref Video Input, and the AJA Kona LHi Reference Input (and AJA Control Panel control tab set to external reference). Until you get a black generator, you will not resolve your problems.
You cannot have your VTR or AJA Kona refernce to input video. Your servo reference on the VTR must be set to AUTO not INPUT.
I just re read your post - exactly what black generator do you have ? Is is a Horita ? If it is, do you have a BSG-50? Do you have the black signals TERMINATED (with a 75 ohm BNC terminator on the AJA Kona, and the 75 ohm term switch on the VTR ?).
The black generator is a Kramer SG-6003B (trying not to drop any zeros this time).
Ohm term switch ON on VTR.
Deck is in PB.
VTR menu item 309 - servo ref is set to Auto1. Do you think that's correct? Is that what you meant?
