we are using the Kona lhe in a full hd environment. We have a 2x2.8 Quadcore Intel Xeon Mac with OSX 10.5.4 and are using final cut pro 6.0.1
We have a TVLogic 24" Full-HD Display directly conected to the HD-SDI-Output on the kona card. As well as a Full-HD Panasonic Plasma and a Full-HD Cinema Display over aja converters.
The kona card together with those dispays is not able to display the line sweep testpicture of the aja control panel correctly. in the right quarter of the image, were the high frequency lines are, interferences appears. We added external color sweep and chroma sweep test signals, they show similar interferences when displayed directly with the control panel. Of course we have the same problems using software like finalcut with aja HD-SDI output.
Please help, we have to generate a test bluray for panasonic and therefore need excellent viewing conditions.
We have tried several output formats (i,p,24-30fps), problem stays. Of course all displays are capable of displaying those images correctly, we tried this using photoshop and dvi-out.
I think its not a scaling problem as scaling test images are displayd correctly. Seems as a codec or frequency problem.
We need help urgently!
Best regards and thanks for your answers.
Of course, AJA will replace the LHe if there are issues, but you must make sure that you are not seeing artifact noise within your monitor. It will be frustrating ordering another Kona LHe, and not
seeing your problem resolved.
What other HD equipment do you own ? Do you have an HD VTR that can be played back on the TV Logic monitor directly ? Does this ok ?
Do you own an HD waveform monitor - can you look at the Kona LHe directly on a waveform monitor - you will be able to instantly see artifact and "ringing" or harmonic noise on a waveform display, if the AJA LHe is causing the problem.
If you have another HD source (like an HD test generator), you should feed the TV Logic, to see if you see this artifact noise.
There is no "menu" that you can change to resolve this problem. You really need to find a way to confirm that your monitor is ok, because you will be frustrated if you order another replacement Kona LHe, only to see the same problem.
