Overdriven audio output?

I've had my Kona Lh for a few months now - nice bit of kit, But, the RCA/Phono audio out seems a bit hot. It is prone to distortion on loud sections. I can just turn it down globally using the master volume out on my mac but it does seem a bit primitive. Is this common?

The Master Volume on your Mac should be set to unity, which is about 3/4 volume. It should not be set to full volume or you can get distortion.

Many Thanks. I always had it full up. Is there an exact setting for Unity or just about 3/4 way up.

By the way, I am really enjoying "Stop staring and start grading....." Full Marks!!

This reason is a good reason not to use your Kona for system sounds. If you need system sounds simply hook a mini plug out of your mac to your mixer. It will solve all these problems as your Kona output won't be connected to your system which will save you on tape outputs.
