OK,

I have updated to Leopard (dual 2.7 G5). These are tests on a Leopard boot drive.

First report.
THis is not ready for Prime Time.

Issues/Reports:

1. You have to load QT 7.3 to run FCP in this config.

2. FCP takes forever (like five minutes or so) to load and be ready to work with.

3. It took me about four or five tried to get FCP to load before I left it alone and it loaded. I kept getting a beach ball so I thought the app was stalling. It wasn't it was just chugging

4. Once it fully loads it responds as normal but this alone would lead me to stick with TIGER (roar).

I am "testing" this out of curiosity, but right off the bat I can say that it purrs in TIGER and Meows in Leopard (more like a tabby right now.

I know AJA reads in on this so if you have any questions fire away.

David

Is this an empty project?

either empty or one that has been loaded.

Very long wait to be ready to cut.

The QT windows (browser and canvas) take a long time to load, etc.

YOu said you have to update to QT 7.3. You are for sure on 6.0.2, right?

Jeremy,

I had to reinstall Leopard (don't ask) but it seems that the 10.5.1 update has made everything run much more smoothly.

It's more tiger like than it has been since running tiger (I still have a Tiger drive ready at all times)

Make sure you do a full backup if you want to migrate.

Awesome. A reinstall does not surprise me in the least. So are you on Leopard all the time now? What do you think? How's AJA working with it? I am getting antsy as I have read about some good things, heard about a lot of bad things, but I have to wait for AE to get full on support anyway.

Yes,

I have not had to go back to TIGER (once I did) and it seems stable. I have worked in SD, and HD.

One thing to think about is TIME MACHINE When it kicks in it starts using your finder to do backups so try to schedule backups when you are not really doing anything on the machine.

AJA is rock solid. I love how this company operates. When they release it IT WORKS and they still have a good open relationship with their customers. It's fantastic really.

They are so reliable. I like that in a company not a lot of talking just a lot of DOING, and AJA does what they do very well.
