Color Space: Exporting 3D LUTs from Davinci Resolve for use in Premiere Pro
on Jul 13, 2017 at 7:48:06 am

Hello all,

I am somewhat new to the Premiere Pro/Davinci Resolve workflow and need some help.

Here is my desired workflow, and the problems I am experiencing with it.

I edit my sequence in Premiere Pro then import the clips from that sequence into Davinci and do my basic coloring and shot matching. I would then save a 3D LUT for each clip and apply that LUT back to my clips in the Premiere sequence.

My main problem is that I cannot get my color spaces to match from Davinci to Premiere.

Here is an example of the same clip with no corrections displayed in both programs; notice the exposure and contrast difference.

Here is an example a correction in Davinci Resolve and a 3D LUT version of that correction applied to the same clip in Premiere Pro.

Notice the severe difference in contrast and colors between the two programs.

Is it possible to match color spaces between these two programs? If not, how do colorists create accurate LUTs to sell for use in Adobe products?

Thank you!
