Beginner's Question: Black Halo around Mask
on Oct 22, 2017 at 8:45:16 pm

I just started out learning Fusion, by recreating a comp I did in AE and ran into a peculiar issue that I don't even know how to google. I'm sure it's pretty basic, so don't be too hard on me. I'm trying to composite two lockoff-shots with a MERGE tool. I added a mask to the foreground-shot. As soon as I soften the edge of the mask, I get a black glow instead of a somooth blending of the foreground into the background as one would expect. Looks like some premultiply-issue. How do I go about doing this correctly?

Can you post more details of how you are building your flow, preferably with a screenshot? You shouldn't be seeing this ...

Does it happen if you swap the order of layers and mask the other side of the twin shot?
