Divide an polygon object into mutiple objects
on Aug 6, 2018 at 3:38:17 pm

Hello,
I'm new to C4D and want help, can anyone tell me how can I divide an polygon object into multiple polygons. Each one should also be separated from the main object and show as individual objects.

Under Mesh/Commands you will find Subdivide. You can then select the face you want and choose Disconnect from the same menu (you can also use the knife tool to get the exact shapes you want). The diconnect poly or faces will still be part of the overall object but you can slide this face(s) around separately from the others. Then if you want you can use Polygon Groups to Objects (Menu/Conversions menu) to separate them up.
You can also use the Mesh/Commands/ Split command. This keeps the original object intact and duplicates and separates just the faces you have selected.
