This is intended for 1-3 people shops. Not the big studios.
This is not a commercial as I don't have anything to sell.
My name is Yuval and I've been in the storage business for 8 years.
I *think* there is a gap in the storage market for videos and I'm tring to validae it.
Will you be willing to co-share a computer in order to backup a colleagues data and vice versa?
Once you're done with creating your video, editing it and it's ready for publishing:
What do you do with all the raw material?
What do you do with the final version once it's "delivered"?
Where do you store it, what's the redundecny you have on it? How much does it cost you per TB of data (not raw).
If this is not the place, I appologize.
Feel free to flame if you don't like it. I don't have it :)
I'm familiar with backup solutions such as crashplan and symform.
The main limitation for those solutions is that they are intended mostly for backup.
I'm more interested in general purpose usage, and not only for backup, i.e., with the current internet speed (and the stuff I do), except for the very current activity which is sensitive for latency mostly, why do I need local storage? Why not get it ALL to the cloud?
