Trying to get GSpeed eS to work over Thundebolt on ProMAX

We recently bought a ProMAX Platform Studio and are loving it. One of the best features is the ability to use thunderbolt and a PCIExpress expansion chassis to connect our existing direct attached storage and use it as a near line storage that is also shared, though not as fast as the built in storage.

We have a Fiberchannel GSpeed and a USB3 GSpeed Q that work great, but we have three GSpeed eS units (eSata) that we can't get working.

After weeks of struggle it appears that the culprit are the low quality Highpoint RAID controllers both RR2341 and RR644L. The 644L is supposed to work over Thunderbolt but apparently doesn't. Highpoint has not been able to figure it out, either.

ProMAX has recommended an ATTO Thunderstream but now they are saying this won't work because their stuff is SAS and won't work with eSata. However, all of ATTO's stuff says SAS/SATA.

Is there controller out there that will allow us to connect these RAID's to the ProMAX via Thunderbolt?
