I am a high school student interested in the Canon C100, C300, Blackmagic Design URSA or URSA Mini, Sony FS700, FS7, FS5, AJA Cion or something similar as a camera for cine production, as these have an interchangeable lens system, and it does have a form factor that works well for my posture. Having a camera that I could take where I need is becoming something that I am finding would increase my experience with a camera where I am able to exercise more creative opinions with a camera that I can use in more exotic locations.
Right now, I rent cameras from my school, and am limited to use at my school. Additionally, the limited equipment that I do have access to are relatively limited in the ways you can push more creativity through the lens. These cameras do not have any interchangeable system, and were originally for broadcast journalism. While I understand that GPB does not work specifically in this industry, I was wondering if there was some sort of monetary sponsorship opportunity for me to continue to make the material that I like to make. Is there such a program for sponsorships, as I would be very willing to provide a variety of publicity, such as video with brand integrations and/or posts on social media. Such an agreement would allow me to create more engaging and diverse media, and would allow me to get my and your message out to more people. Additionally, it would allow me to share such new technologies with other students who don't have the same opportunities.
Last May, GPB published an article written by Trevor Young entitled "Grady High School Orchestra Charms Indie Musician Kishi Bashi" (http://gpbnews.org/post/grady-high-school-orchestra-charms-indie-musician-kishi-bashi); I was the director, DP, audio engineer, editor, and colorist for our video submission, which was also featured in the article. This project made me very proud of the work that I've done with this group, and has inspired me to continue making web content, though not necessarily in this field.
If you're interested but want some sort of non-monetary compensation, I would be willing to provide alternative forms of compensation such as advertising (say, for your production company or you as an individual) or similar.
