trying to update to CC2014-Big time fail

This beats all, trying to download and install CC 2014 apps and get errors for any program I try to download.
contacted Adobe chat support, sent error log for Photoshop and they say I have to uninstall ALL their apps old and new and reinstall.
Are they out of their minds! CC 2013 is all working well, I want to install CC2014 to see if it works as well, but now they want me to start from scratch. For me that would mean uninstalling CS6, CS 2013 and then reinstalling it all again and hope that all my plugins and settings are still somewhat intact.I've never run across a product that can so disrupt your workflow.
Think I'm with 2013 unless they want to reimburse me for all the time it will take to do all of this.
I though 2014 was a separate install from anything else?
So I will have to continue paying for a product that I am stuck with an outdated version of, unless I want to take days to get back to square one. Sucks big time.

Thanks,
Vince Sanchez

Vince you should follow that post and see if it solves your problem. There's been several reports of plug-ins causing problems with CC 2014 installs.

Kevin - I haven't had any problems. I was just trying to help Vince out. I've read several forums where the plug-in bug has gotten people....even where the plugin manufacture has to update their plugins to work with the new CC 2014.

CC '14 has been buttery smooth for me. No problems on my end, but thanks for reaching out!

i found 3 things work to fix problems with premiere on a Mac.

1 - trash preferences
2 - repair permissions
3 - use ONYX to get rid of all the other debris

restart

seems to work every time.

Andy, Ryan thanks for the links. My problem is getting the downloads to complete. Every program I've tried has failed to download, each with a different error message.
The Adobe chat line insists I need to uninstall everything. They sent me to a page with error messages and the one I get for Photoshop says if after restarting I still can't download then I have to uninstall everything.
That's not going to happen for awhile because as is CC 2013 runs perfectly and I'm too busy to open a new can of worms, let alone spend the time to uninstall, reinstall and fine tune my system.
I've installed CC2014 on my home system and it runs fine alongside CC 2013.
If a corrupted database is something Adobe knows about why don't THEY create a database rebuilder instead of making their clients go through the hassle of a complete uninstall and reinstall?
I will try the trash the preferences, but that means every program that I have installed which is most of them. I've tried rebuilding permissions.
Anyway still incredulous that one thing can bring down a whole suite of products, particularly installing a new set of programs that are supposed to be independent of the old installs.

Hi Vince,
Let us know if you are successful or if you still need help. If the agents are not helpful, a post on the Downloading and Installation forum. That might assist you better.

BTW, are you still running OS X 10.4, or is that a typo? If not, you really should be running OS X 10.8 or later for all the CC apps.

Thanks,
Kevin
