Worth a listen. Larry asks some tough questions and I think some will be surprised by Bill's answers:

[Karl Soule] "Larry asks some tough questions and I think some will be surprised by Bill's answers:"

Bill Roberts sound like a great guy, urbane, relaxed and he makes it all sound so plausable and wonderful, and for anybody who doesn't want to join the dream team, well they can just stay where they are using their existing software.

My opinion is that this whole new business model is all about Adobe, not about Adobe's customers, it's about stabilising the revenue stream and its about command and control.

This whole initiative could be carried out with the perpetual licence model. The new subscription model is being offered in the same manner as the colonial empires used to operate, proffering a tray full of sparkling baubles to encourage people to forfeit their rights of ownership.

But I'm fortunate in the sense that I'm a wavering potential customer rather than someone who has become dependant on Adobe software.

[Karl Soule] " Larry asks some tough questions "

I didn't hear anything I would remotely call tough. It was basically an Adobe advertisement.
