Why Adobe Speedgrade doesn't work with Blackmagic cards?

My first thought is obviously because Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve is a direct competitor of Speedgrade, but, Photoshop, AE and Premiere already support BM video cards.

And while more and more people are being reluctant of joining Adobe Cloud, isn't this counter productive for Adobe? They do support AJA and Matrox, but a lot replaced their AJA with BMs because of DaVinci .

I think Adobe need to understand this, our industry and profession doesn't revolve around them, it never did.

I've heard that this is an issue on the Blackmagic side, and not the Adobe side, but I don't know whether or not this is the case. It's driving me nuts, and has made Speedgrade absolutely unusable for me. Nary a word from Adobe other than "use NVIDIA SDI cards."

I heard the same thing. I spoke to a BMD Rep at their recent event @ the Burbank Marriot and they acknowledged the issue, said it has nothing to do with protecting Resolve and that they'd be working on it, although I didn't sense any urgency. That said, now that SpeedGrade has fully implemented the Mercury Playback Engine from Premiere Pro which does work w/BMD Cards, I'm hoping the issue will be "resolved". We should get some clarity @ IBC this weekend.

[Justin Crowell] "Nary a word from Adobe other than "use NVIDIA SDI cards.""

SpeedGrade CC 7.0 added support for Mercury Transmit, initially supporting AJA cards. SpeedGrade 7.0.1 will add Matrox and Bluefish.

If you have a well-profiled monitor, you can also use a display LUT in SpeedGrade for color management.

How do you avoid using OS color management on the monitor?
