Here's some (very shaky) footage of the new Mac Pro taken by someone at WWDC.

Overall it doesn't tell us much, since the machine looks the same from just about every angle, but it does give a good view of the back panel, which I was curious about.

Looks like a pretty nice machine. There are are few things that puzzle me though.

1. It looks like the power button is on the 'Back' of the computer. If you were to put this in a rack or even on your desk, you would have to reach around the back to turn on the computer. In some environments this might be difficult to do.

2. Graphics. Right now the graphics on the machine are pretty awesome, but in 1 or 2 years they will probably be obsolete. If the GPU's are soldered on, we're pretty much screwed on updating. The only thing that has kept my 2008 Mac Pro alive, is that I've been able to update the graphics card and hard drive to SSD. The new Mac Pro seems like it would be stuck in time.

3. Memory. Looks like there are only 4 memory slots. This may not be a big deal if it takes 16GB or 32GB memory modules, but I'm not even sure those exist.

My thoughts exactly. One of the benefits of the current MacPros is the ability to update to new GPU's, add more RAM and HDD/SSD's as needed.
