Has Adobe Creative Cloud changed the way you work?
on May 12, 2013 at 11:06:04 am

Hello,

I'm trying to figure out what the benefits to an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription are, and I'd appreciate any feedback from current users. I'm especially interested in hearing about any workflow improvements that you've discovered.

Thanks!
Sandeep

Apparently with CC you can download the latest updates as soon as they are available AND of course such timely updates were not available prior to CC!!!

What a complete and utter lie from Adobe!!!

Thanks for responding. I was hoping to hear about actual use case innovation though. Most of the concerns people have are well represented in various other threads.

Best,
Sandeep.

Here are the benefits I've found so far:

1. Having access to all the apps is nice.
2. Using the cloud to save files works pretty good. I've done stuff in photoshop at work then was able to open the psd project at home. I think the newer version of the cloud is supposed to work even better in this aspect
3. I usually used to upgrade every time Adobe had upgrade offers so the $49 a month for me isn't a bad deal.

I know a lot of people are up in arms about loss of perpetual license, but I for one don't mind the new cloud model. If Adobe could offer tiers of service, such as a production premium version for $29.99 a month, that would be even better.

Not yet, but it may. Creative Cloud has quite a few new web development and web design tools (one reason why Fireworks was put out to pasture, Dreamweaver and Flash may be next) plus Adobe Story, the online screenwriting software service (I was debating between this and Celtx for use).

There's also apparently large-file transfer and the ability to host up to five websites, but I just joined last month so I haven't had the chance to look over everything. I'm still going through the tutorial videos in my CC website.

It's easy to install applications. That's all I've really done with it. Clients are primarily on Dropbox for file sharing, though if I stick with it, I may check out the storage to drop the $10 per month Dropbox subscription at the very least.
