Hello, I created a script that I built to automate converting youtube downloads to ProRes using ffmpeg on a Qnap NAS and sanitize the file names of illegal characters.
I created a few versions of the scripts. Each one is a different flavor of ProRes.
Please note that ffmpeg does not create an Apple-sanctioned version of ProRes. So I would not use this to make a client ready deliverable. However, my testing found that Premiere and Resolve work with these files just fine.
This script uses only software that comes pre-installed on all Qnaps and was tested to work on the latest version of the Qnap OS on an Intel Machine.
It's not the fastest way to make ProRes but is it very simple once it is all set up.
Setup does require a little advanced knowledge because you will need to open up a terminal and SSH into your Qnap device.
