I am looking to send a proposal to the school district I work for and get a BMPC production rig. Currently we have some GH3s and 60Ds but I think it would be nice to get a cinema package exclusively for short films or contest work.
Here are my needs:
-Flexible production rig for multi-use (I need: shoulder, tripod, Steadicam Pilot, Jib & Slider/Dolly)
-Preferably it would be fairly easy to switch between the above modes.
-Cine lenses (Close, Medium and Wide) and the easier to swap out the better as far as the rig goes.
-Matte box with basic filters
-Follow Focus with cable
-External power for camera
-Shotgun Mic w/ external recorder
-Other accessories (SSD, etc)
-Less than $15k for the package, must purchase from B&H
Your links add up to about $7500. Cine lenses alone will eat the remaining budget for just 2 lenses. Even going with lower cost lenses it will be a challenge to fit all you're asking for into the remaining $7500. I suggest you call B&H and talk to them about your needs and have them give you some options.
