I'm trying to inverse telecine an old movie that has very mixed cadences for use on a DVD at 24p. And since AE doesn't have scene detection, I want to take advantage of SpeedGrade's scene detection and then send that timeline to After Effects for manual scene-by-scene Inverse Telecine.

I can export the EDL from SpeedGrade but then I don't know how to get that into AE with all the video intact.

Any suggestions?

EDL back to Premiere, Link footage, then import Premiere Project into After Effects.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is some script that will allow AE to import an EDL, but if you have Premiere I'd suspect it's an easier intermediate tool.

Alternately, check out this full thread in case it's useful.
