Simple question:

Will SpeedGrade accept QT reference movies on the timeline?

Resolve does not.

As long as Quicktime can read the codec, it seems like it works. Just tested an MP4 file which Speedgrade wont load and created a reference movie -- bingo it worked.

Thanks a lot Angelo!

If it's not asking too much can you make a ref movie from two source files and see if you get the same results? The reason I ask is this is the kind of ref movie Resolve fails to load. Resolve will only load ref movies that reference a single media file.

Ref movies are a big tool in our workflow and BMD seems not to be interested in supporting them properly.

Thanks

I'm not really up-and-up on reference files so I made a reference file for an audio track and pinned it to the reference file of a video track. In the movie inspector, seemed to list everything normally.

My initial thoughts are WAV audio only; Speedgrade produces noise when linked to mp3, etc.

It appears to diminish the speed of playback. I was getting 14fps when the original video plays back in real time.

YMMV so get a demo of Speedgrade if you don't have it.
