I've got a JVC HM700u that I've had since about 2010. It's been pretty well babied, and has less than 200 fan hours on it. It has provided rock solid performance from day one!
I've been working on/with other projects and this camera really hasn't seen much use in the last year or so, and was sitting in the PortaBrace case in storage, but I've been pretty busy with it for the last 4 or 5 months.
My problem is that internal battery doesn't seem to be charging. I've plugged it into AC, and left it overnight, hoping that would do the trick. It's not really such a big deal. Every so often when I power it up, I get that immediate prompt to set the date and time, (often while I'm busy, so much of my footage reads that it was recorded at 12 midnight on 1/01/2009.) The scene files, recording format, recorded file numbers, etc. are unaffected, and the camera continues to operate flawlessly. I recently upgraded the firmware, hoping maybe it was just a glitch, (and that would be the first question support would ask me,) but not change.
Anyone have any thoughts of what I might do before I take it in for service. It's not that big a deal, but with a project I have coming up, it would be nice to be assured an accurate time stamp on the recorded files.
All the best, and thanks in advance!
