What is the "standard" for high def shooting to tape, with the GY-HD100U? The manual makes it seem as if the HDV p60 mode = 480 but the camera menu implies 720p60 is a valid setting.

Thanks!

Hey Bob,
The JVC HD100 only shoots HDV at 24 or 30 fps. It shoots SD at 24, 30 and 60 fps.
If you're going for the 'film' look then just shoot HDV 24p at 1/48.
Unfortunately, as I'm sure you know, there is no set standard for HD.
As far a frame rates go you can take your pick.
24 = film look / 30 = TV / 60 = liquid motion, slow motion (conform), fast.
What kind of work are in?
Whatever the situation the HD100 is a great camera.

So -- if you want to shoot 60, you have to shoot SD. Oddly, the camera menu seemed to suggest that there was an HDV setting for 60. My mistake -- thanks for clearing that up.
