Experiencing green flashes in H.264 video using AME 2014
on Jun 30, 2014 at 8:22:31 pm

I'm experiencing green flashes throughout my H.264 files exported on my MacBook Pro 15" retina display using AME 2014. All settings are the same as I've been using for several months for my QuickTime exports (1920x1080, 29.97 fps) from a three camera multicam sequence.
Is this issue new with the 2014 version of Media Encoder? Has anyone else experienced any similar phenomenon?

Are you running OS X 10.9.3? Others have reported similar problems if so.

Options:
(1) Install 10.9.4 and see if problem persists
(2) Switch to "software only" renderer inside of AME (drop down box on the bottom of your Queue window)

Thanks, Ryan...
Tried Option 1 with no improvement, but Option 2 seemed to do the trick!
Perhaps it was the combination of both, since I didn't try the "Software Only" option before I updated to 10.9.4 ...either way, looking good.

Something else to consider for the renderer:

ATI Graphics cards = OpenCL
Nvidia Graphics cards = CUDA

Depending on the type of GPU in your system that may have been hanging it up (if you had the wrong one selected). Software may be reliable, but it is substantially slower than harnessing the GPU for exporting processes. So you may try matching the setting to the type of GPU you have and see if that works.

An uninstall/reinstall of CC may be in order as well.... :-/
