Anyone ever see media encoder do something like this? Everything is fine until the endpage.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/x72hndz8ga1zvjj/Academy%20Carpet%20In%20Stock%20G...

Here's the preset I used.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/1cq0grnlgri6ltm/Interactive.epr

I had this same problem on Friday, but the weird thing is that out of the 4 spots I was encoding, 3 came out bad every time and 1 came out just fine every time.

Thoughts?

THanks,
Darren

What's your problem with the exported file? Quality? Black bars on top and bottom? The video plays through fine on my computer.

Per your epr file, 352x240 is an old (and I do mean old) MPEG1 NTSC standard. Is that your required deliverable? If so, why use a mp4 container with h.264 as the codec? Are you trying to squeeze 16:9 material into the 352x240 space (what it looks like you're doing)?

Just trying to get more clarification so someone on here could help you.

Interesting. Looks like it may be a Quicktime issue. When I played the file back in Dropbox to see what you were seeing, it played back fine.

When I play it back in Quicktime, I see this.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/v0s5fpnt3i52i95/Screen%20shot%202013-07-15%20at%2...

When it plays back on a coworkers Windows Media Player, it plays back fine.

I export MP4s from AME all the time and this preset is the only time I've seen this happen so there must be something going haywire with Quicktime.

Yes, this is my required deliverable.

Thanks for taking time to take a look.

Quicktime is notoriously unreliable and untrustworthy. You may try some other players to see how the file performs - VLC, MPEG Streamclip, or drop the encoded file back in Premiere Pro to make sure looks alright.

Looks fine in Premiere, but bad in MPEG Streamclip.

One thing to check is whether you've installed the most recent updates:

Ran updates last week, but something on my system failed halfway through. Will finish running those tonight and see if that fixes for me.

Thanks.

If the file needs to be QuickTime compatible, use AME to render an intermediate file and then encode a deliverable file with QuickTime Pro or Compressor. Otherwise, accept that QT may not be representing the video accurately.

Thanks for the tips everyone. We ran it through the content management system and it came out fine so I guess I just won't worry about it unless it becomes a critical issue.

Thanks,
Darren
