I apologize if this is too obvious a question; I'm following a spec sheet that requires videos to be exported in h.264 and with15-20 Mbps bitrate. I have no problem with the first part, but all I'm seeing are high or medium bitrate options. Which one will get me within the 15-20 range for an h.264 format? I'm running Aftereffects and Media Encoder version 2017 (for both)

Edit: I realized just now that the "high bitrate" settings on h.264 automatically put the bitrate to a max of 12mbps. Is there a way to make it higher?

Thanks!

Have you tried going in to the Preset Menu and selecting Create Encoding Preset. You can set a Custom Bitrate there.

Thanks! I'll try that.

Hilary - you’ll need to make sure that you set the “Level” of the h.264 encode to at least level 4 to achieve data rates like your spec sheet demands. Levels above 4 allow the target bitrates to reach as high 240Mbps at level 5.1.
