Alternatives to Media Encoder?

Hi all, I know this is the adobe media encoder forum, so I imagine most of you are pretty happy with it. But I'm one of those folks who just can't get with the cloud system, so my media encoder is getting a bit old at this point. It's still working, but I've been thinking I ought to see what alternatives there are out there. I've been doing some google searching and not really finding much other than open source programs, that appear to be geared toward consumers, although that doesn't necessarily mean they're not professional quality. But I thought I'd check with the experts before I spend a lot of time trying out different software.

What matters to me most is image quality and producing video for bluray disks. Any thoughts out there?

thanx --ds

You can also look at Telestream Episode, Apple Compressor (if you own a Mac), or Wowza Streaming Engine which had a transcoding component to it.
