Guys, we are cvoming down thehome stretch.

So far the machines have been working perfectly. Our delays have been caused by vacation schedules and other pressing projects. It's just manpower, not technical issues.

So far all i can say is "WOW"! Dual core is the bomb!
I'm already planning for a dual dual-core machine next! The DIY4 nachines were a pleasure to buyild and the results out of the box have been even better than we expected.

You can follow our Black or Green machine configs and you'll have a killer NLE machine!

Gary

Would you change your choice of HW setup acording to the nle that you choose ?

Would you change your choice of HW or mem size if you
plan to edit DV without video card?

For PP2 [editing without video card], Do you expect 1.5G to function noticably better then 1G ?

There is probably not a day that goes by when I don't check for updates on the DYI 4 page. However, in my case it is mainly for interest since I have recently put together a system that is a near clone to your DYI 4 "Green" machine. About the only significant difference is that I put in a Raptor 10k rpm boot drive and a GeForce 6800 video card with 256Mb of RAM.

Which brings up my question: Was it a cost trade-off not putting in a high-end boot drive even in the Liquid Vaporizer? Maybe you needed to keep the boot drive consistent between the platforms for comparison purposes.
