is a realtime card the same as a capture card or a graphic card i'm a little bit confused here. I want a realtime card for HDV what do guys recommend

graphics card drive your computer monitor. Real-time card are capture cards that in addition to I/O provide real-time acceleration for your video editing. For HDV, the card to get is the Edius NX for HDV $1999

does this edius card work for avid xpress pro or is it just for canopus products sorry for the ? but i'm new at this. thanks for your quick response guys.

the edius card only works with edius for now. If you want to work with Avid Xpress pro, get the Mojo! It makes Xpress Pro realtime!
