Is SLI necessary for Video Editing?
on Jan 18, 2006 at 11:00:53 am

I am looking for a system for Video Editing.

Will a Dual Core system (Opteron 165) system saffice or should I spend the money and get a Dual Processor System?

Also the main question: SHOULD I REALLY GET 2 VIDEO CARDS? WILL I BENEFIT FROM SLI?

If so could you suggest a motherboard, cpu, video card configuration.

Thanks alot guys!

so far there is no NLE that boasts any advantage from SLI or dual graphics cards.

BUT..... Avid Liquid 7 is optimized for GPU, and so is the new Premiere Pro 2. This means these apps willt ap intot the power of your graphics cards. DO they or can they tap inot 2 cards???? Don't know for sure, but I have a hunch you would see some things accelerated as a result.
