Why is Adobe Premier Pro "freezing" (export to dvd
on Jan 15, 2006 at 1:19:46 am

I am trying to export a sequence directly to dvd using the feature within Adobe Premier Pro.

Transcoding starts up ok, but after a variable period of time, the program suddenly freeze up (cpu utilization drops to baseline, adobe premier pro becomes unresponsive, but page file usage stays stuck where it was). The computer itself and other programs still function fine.

When I use Task Manager to try and end the program, I get a message that the program can't end because it is waiting for a response from me, but there is nothing that I am supposed to click on.

Any idea what's causing this?

I tried the Microsoft patch, then the Adobe MPEG encoder update, but neither solved my problem.

I used the Matrox Media Export option and transcoding completed just fine.
