Laptop Video Editing: Best HD configuration
on Nov 8, 2005 at 2:58:34 pm

For laptop DV video-editing, which hard drive scenario is best?
(A) one 7,200 RPM drive,
(B) two 5,400 RPM drives (RAID 0), or
(C) two 5,400 RPM drives with no RAID but one drive dedicated to video?
You may assume 1GB internal memory.

Along the same lines, is there any machine (or custom maker) besides Alienware that offers a laptop with two 7,200 RPM drives? That would seem ideal.

Any comments on using external drives to add a second 7,200 RPM drive in Scenario A.

Regards
