Recently, I upgraded the editing-machine here to Windows XP Pro from Windows 2000. Besides editing, the machine is used to play out DV-footage via Firewire to feed a set of VHS-decks.
After upgrading, Print-to-tape from Vegas 6.0c always stops outputting DV for about half a second. During this 'quirk' - the blanking color of the DV-to-analog converter is shown.
Sometimes the black-out shows up in about 5 minuts, sometimes the output lasts for 20 minutes before failing.
Already tried to... :
- completely update Win XP
- print out with another NLE (so it's nog Vegas-specific)
- print out with other converters
- print out with 2 different machines
- change the firewire-card with an Avid-approved type
All this didn't make it any better. So, it now looks to me that this is a problemen related tot Windows XP outputting digital video over Firewire.
Does anybody have the same experience or can anyone help me out?
