Mini DV to DVD Recorder
on Oct 10, 2005 at 2:40:31 am

I hope someone can follow me on this:........I own a DVD Recorder and a Canon ZR300 Mini DV Camera......My question is this:......If I connect my Mini DV Camera using the Stereo Audio/Video cables that came with the camera to my DVD Recorder will the audio/video being sent thru those cables reach the DVD Recorder as digital or analog?......I know the audio/video leaving the camera is digital but will it be digital when it reaches the DVD Recorder?.........Here is what I want to avoid:
Digital To Analog back to Digital......

any type of A/V cable is an analog video signal.
Only a firewire cable is digital data signal. does your recorder have firewire? if so firewire out of camera into recorder.

PS you wont lose visible quality connecting the way your talking. maybe on a scope but not to the non-pro human eye. your changes if any would be in the detail in the white or blacks.. but that may be because of the recorder and not the cables.
