I have a Dell Dimensions XPS Gen 4 – 3.4GHz, 2GB Ram with a NVIDIA 6800 video card, editing with Premier Pro 1.5.1 and a Sony HC1 HDV camera.

Capturing HDV footage using the AspectHD codec that is included with Premier works fine but when I try to encode it using the Adobe media encoder the resulting image is very noisy. What is the best format or settings to encode HDV?

Is the full version of Cineform AspectHD better quality? What are the benefits of upgrading to AspectHD?

I would also like to purchase the GTECH 500GB G-Sata drive, does it come with a 32bit host adapter? I only have 32bit and one PCI express slot left.

Obviously I’m attempting to build an HDV editing system that gives me similar performance to a DV NLE. Will these upgrades get me there? Also, I would like to have a real-time HD monitor out, would the FX540 provide that?
