Sending video to DVD recorder via Firewire ?
on Nov 23, 2004 at 8:13:57 am

Hi there,

Are there any tools around that will let me "play" video on my PC and have it pushed down firewire to my Panasonic E100 DVD recorder ?

Basically if the PC can pretend to be a DV camera ?

Thanks!

If you have video on your computer and you would like to send it over to you recorder all you would need is the software to play the video through the firewire cable. I do this with Vegas Video 4 and Pinnacle 6. Pinnacle has its own break out box. In Vegas you should be able to output from the capture card using firewire.

Well I had a go at plugging the DVD recorder into the PC ... went as follows :

PC : Oooh look a "Panasonic DMR-HS" device has been plugged in
PC : Oooh look a "AV/C Subunit" has been plugged in ... got a driver for it ?

Bugger! So the next question is .. "Is there a driver for the Panasonic DMR-E100 or DMR-HS2 (or any related DVD recorder) ?"

Thanks.
