Just finishing to figure out my new Video machine i'm stuked on with the new Dual core processors.
I do have my new MoBo Asus P5WD2 Premium and I have to choose the processor. I have selected two: Intel Pentium Extreme Edition 840 Smithfield
(Dual core + HT) at 3.2 Ghz, and the Intel Pentium 4 @ 3.73 Ghz and a FSB of 1066.
The question is witch one will perform better for an Adobe Video Collection software?
Ignacio, here is the web site for Adobehttp://www.adobe.com/products/dvcoll/systemreqs.html this has the recommended specs for the computer. I too have a similiar problem in organizing the parts for my new machine, what exactly will work together and what is best."Two Xeon CPUs Are Better Than One Intel P4 Extreme Platform "http://www.tomshardware.com/motherboard/20040514/ This is Toms Hardware Guide very helpful site. This is good reading. The unit your looking at will be good either way, however the Dual core setup would be simliar to the Xeon chips in this article.
