I am building DIY 3 system and looking for the required windows. Can I buy the OEM full version of XP PRO with service pack 2 or I have to buy a standard full version. What about a 64bit XP, or a media center version.
Can someone give me the differences between the versions and most importantly which one will be the best for NLE using AVID

Avid has strict requirements. XP Pro SP2.

You can certainly purchase the OEM version if you can find it online somewhere.

None. Except you have no support from Microsoft whatsoever with OEM.. I really have no idea what the support you get from a retail package actually consists of, so I can't compare.

Just a word of caution while shopping around for OEM XP: Be sure you are getting Media (the CD) along with a real holographic license sticker. Just a sticker probably isn't that useful to you, and many people sell that way.
