looking for a capture card
on Sep 11, 2004 at 5:28:09 am

I am in the market for a capture card. only no software I already have vegas 5 and premiere 7 pro.
P4 3.2 1g ram soon to be 2
pny fx5700le 128

I am wanting this to capture from my sony camcorder.
Wanting to have realtime editing.
I already can capture with firewire and it works great but when I render the video I am not getting realtime rendering. It goes fairly fast but I have sooo many tapes to go.
I have 20 more OLD family movies hours long to edit.

Thanks.

The RTX100 or DV Storm will give you real-time performance with Premrie Pro. For now there is no hardware accelerators on the market for Vegas.

What about the canopus Lets EDIT RT for 299.00
Or what is available under 400.00 us

This is only a hobby I dont get paid for this its only fun.

So spending 1k for something to make it a bit faster is a waste of money for me.

thanks

Lets Edit RT hardware goves you nothing but I/O. The Lets Edit software that comes with it has some real-time capabilities, but it is nowhere close to Vegas or Premiere pro when it comes to features.

Upgrading your CPU or adding more memory may be your best bet for improved Vegas or Premiere performance.
