Hard Drive Set-Up

Here are my mobo specs:

PATA 2 x ATA 133 up to 4 Devices
SATA 2 x SATA 150
SATA RAID RAID 0/1
Additional SATA 2 x SATA 150
Additional SATA RAID RAID 0/1
Additional RAID Controller Silicon Image 3112

If I am reading this right, does this mean that my board will take FOUR SATA 150 drives? If so, should I go with all SATA 150 drives?

This is what I was thinking of doing, and you tell me if I am going about this right...

I was planning on striping two SATA 150 7200RPM 320GB drives in a RAID0 for my video, and getting one SATA 150 10,000RPM 74GB drive for my system drive.

Given my mobo specs, should you do it differently?

Yes, it looks as if you are correct on the hard drive count. This is semi-common these days - We're moving away from PATA. You should definitely configure it the way you said. The only thing I might recommend is getting the 36GB raptor instead - if you do it right, you won't fill up that drive.

The 74GB drive is a Raptor too. Why the 36GB Raptor?

Here is a link to the WD 10,000RPM 74GB Raptor:

And here's the WD 10,000RPM 36GB Raptor:

Thanks again for your help Edward.

I know the 74GB is a raptor too - I am just saying that you aren't going to fill it up if you do it right. Even the $50 difference between the 74gb/36GB still might not be worth it.
