RAID 0 Video Editing Question
on Jul 10, 2005 at 6:09:55 am

Let's say my local CompUSA was having a sale on Maxtor UATA 250 7200rpm drives. Let's say I buy a couple, and install them in my Quicksilver DP 800 G4. And I set up a RAID 0 configuration.

I want these drives to be solely used for video editing. So I thought I would install a clean version of OSX 10.4.1, my video editing software -- Final Cut Studio -- and keep my video files on this striped drive as well. This way I boot into the editing drive and I'm not tempted to stop in the middle of a project and play Wingnuts for 1/2 hour.

I'm relatively new to video editing, but I have finished a couple of short pieces, and I could use some advice on whether this set-up makes sense.

Thanks,

Bond
