Capturing PC Gaming Action

Is it possible for me to capture PC gaming using one PC to play the game while another PC captures the action using a Firewire card? I need the best video quality possible. Any info. will be appreciated.

Yes, using one PC to capture the video of another is the best method for capture, as long as your game computer has direct video output, like an s-video port. I've done this to convert a powerpoint presentation into video.

If your game machine video card has a video output port, then you could capture this video directly with a VCR or camcorder.

The limitation is resolution. Standard digital video is 720x480 pixels, so the video won't have as much detail as your game screen.
