Possible Bottleneck...?
on Jun 11, 2005 at 1:51:09 am

I recently purchased a new computer, built strictly with NLE (Prem pro) in mind. The specs are as follows;

Abit IC7-G (Intel 875 based chipset)
Intel 3.2 processor
1GB Corsair 3200xl RAM (matched pair)
1x 120G WD HDD
1x 250G WD HDD
Windows XP home SP2

This thing flies through almost anything- working with multiple layers and so forth is very smooth, but I am finding that when I go to render while in-project (preview rendering or whatever you call it), I'm getting some pretty horrendous speeds. It's taking three or four minutes to render a simple 10-second time stretch on a one minute clip.

Is there something crucial I don't know about here? Any advice would be great.

Thanks,

Matt.

Make sure you have all your project files and scratch disks going to the video dirve, not your C: drive.
